Photo Salad

A blog dedicated to two of my strongest passions: photography and salads.

And why not?

Who says you have to focus? I really believe that you can, in fact, have it all!

So in the months to come, this will be my creative outlet - a place to learn craft, share knowledge, practice technique and show off results. I will also periodically review gear (including both camera/software/flash components and knives/ingredients/books as are relevant) and destinations (galleries and/or restaurants as needed). Basically if blogging defines a part of your life, this one is outlining some of my favorite things and allowing me obsessive focus on what I love.

Of course, a blog does require a challenge or a pursuit to keep the momentum up so here is mine: I endeavor to discover the Perfect Salad. AND I endeavor to document said salad with the Perfect Image.

Some definitions from Wikipedia (of course):

Salad: Salad is any of a wide variety of dishes including: green salads; vegetable salads; salads of pasta, legumes, or grains; mixed salads incorporating meat, poultry, or seafood; and fruit salads.[1] They include a mixture of cold or hot foods, often including raw vegetables and/or fruits.

Photography: (from Greek φωτο and γραφία) is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor. Light patterns reflected or emitted from objects activate a sensitive chemical or electronic sensor during a timed exposure, usually through a photographic lens in a device known as a camera that also stores the resulting information chemically or electronically. Photography has many uses for business, science, art and pleasure.
